1. Who we are

This privacy notice covers EV Charger Cornwall, an independent information site about EV charger installation in Cornwall, operating at evchargercornwall.co.uk. The site is run by Tally Digital Ltd, which is the data controller for the personal data described below.

Contact: hello@evchargercornwall.co.uk.

2. What personal data we collect

  • From the introduction form: your name, email address, phone number (optional), postcode, the type of install you need, your answers about the property (whether you rent or own, your parking, your vehicle, whether a grant has been claimed at the address before, and whether you have permission and the documents the grant application asks for; for landlords, how the property is let, the tenant's parking and the number of sockets), and your consent to be introduced to an installer. We ask for answers only; we never ask you to send us documents.
  • From email correspondence: whatever you choose to include in your messages.
  • Automatically via Google Analytics (only if you accept cookies): anonymised browsing data such as pages visited, time on site, approximate location (city-level) and device type. No personally identifying information is collected by Analytics.

3. How we use your data

  • To introduce you to one local OZEV-approved installer covering your postcode, if we have one. Your confirmation email names the installer we have passed your details to.
  • To reply to you with confirmation, follow-up, or clarifying questions.
  • To keep basic records of enquiries and introductions made.
  • To understand site usage (anonymised analytics only, with your consent).

We do not sell your data for marketing, and we don't send marketing email. Installers we introduce you to may pay us a fee for the introduction; we only make an introduction with your consent.

4. Lawful basis

  • Consent: when you tick the consent box and submit the form, you agree to us sharing your details with one local installer covering your postcode. You can withdraw that consent at any time by replying to any email from us.
  • Legitimate interests: for keeping records of enquiries and introductions, and responding to you.
  • Consent (cookies): for analytics cookies, only after you accept via the cookie banner.

5. Who we share your data with

  • One installer, if you ask for an introduction: we share your name, contact details, postcode, and job details with one OZEV-approved installer covering your area, and your confirmation email names them. They become a separate data controller at that point. If you claim the OZEV grant, the installer also processes your data for the grant claim.
  • Brevo (email provider): used to send confirmation and notification emails. Brevo counts email opens and link clicks anonymously: the counts are not linked to you, and links in our emails pass through a Brevo address before reaching their destination. Brevo privacy policy.
  • n8n (form backend): self-hosted on our own server; receives form submissions and routes them. No third-party processor in this step.
  • Cloudflare (CDN and Turnstile bot protection): processes IP addresses and browser signals to filter spam submissions. Cloudflare privacy policy.
  • Google Analytics (anonymised, consent-based). Google privacy policy.

6. Cookies, analytics and affiliate links

This site itself uses only Google Analytics for site usage measurement, and it is blocked until you accept cookies via the consent banner. If you decline, no analytics data is collected. You can revoke consent at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this domain.

Some links on this site are affiliate links (currently to Pod Energy, through the Awin affiliate network). We don't set any cookie when you click one. If you follow one, Awin and the retailer set their own cookies on their own sites to record that you came from us, so we can be paid a commission if you buy. Their privacy notices apply: Awin privacy notice.

The form uses Cloudflare Turnstile for bot protection. It is required for the form to work and does not track you across sites.

7. How long we keep your data

  • Introduction requests: retained for up to 24 months, then deleted. Ask us and we'll delete yours sooner.
  • Email correspondence: retained for up to 24 months, then deleted.
  • Analytics data: 14 months default retention in Google Analytics, anonymised.

8. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectification: ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Erasure ("right to be forgotten"): ask us to delete your data, subject to legitimate exceptions
  • Restriction: ask us to limit how we use your data
  • Objection: object to specific uses of your data
  • Portability: receive your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time where consent is the lawful basis

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@evchargercornwall.co.uk. We'll respond within one month.

9. Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO):
